The ZK Sonnars are assembled in Russia from Zeiss parts. They are the predecessor of the Jupiter-3. I've rebuilt a couple, bought this one several years ago. The lens required a thicker Shim like most Jupiter-3's, unlike my two wartime Zeiss Sonnars- which were perfect across range. The barrel and focus mount are identical to the wartime Sonnars, a bit on the fragile side compared with the J-3. I've moved the barrel of a ZK Sonnar to a J-3 mount for people before, resulted in a usable lens for them.

Not always easy to focus wide-open when someone is moving- even if only back and forth.
