Fuji XE-1 and my struggles

The Look

I also like that "sharp" look, whether it's acutance or microcontrast or whatever you call it. I have found that it's really hit or miss with legacy lenses on digital bodies, I've not used Leica lenses, but most old glass I've used gives a smooth rather than punchy look.

I've found the same thing. But, on my m4/3 bodies, I mostly still like and use old glass. But, I do have to work the images a bit, to get close to what I thought I saw, with the naked eye.

Just my 2 cents' - I loved the output of the few legacy glasses I own on my Pen E-PL3's (yes, the old sensor) than whatever I got from the same lenses mounted on an X-E1.

There must be something there between the synergy (ugh I hate the term, but can't think of a better word at this point) of a native Fuji lens on a Fuji body.

I added a version slightly processed with Color Efex Pro (tonal contrast) to my previous post which imo looks much better than the ones processed with Aperture.
