How wonderfully compact it is! I am taking my 5 with me to Mexico, will look for a 7 when I get back. The 5 too is small and compact and it's the only film camera I am taking.

I'm still getting use to this one, but it handles like a dream. My challenge is lens selection. Reviews are all over the place on zooms that are affordable. May just pick up a 24 to go with the 50 and stick with the 35-70 for a while. Have fun in Mexico

Thank you! It's a part of Mexico I have been to many times but I never ever took any pictures as hate taking pictures with my phone so much. With a real camera in my hands, perhaps I will see the city in a new light, and it's something I am looking forward to.

Take lots of pics so we can see it through your excellent eye. I am desperate for a
road trip I have a friend in Cancun and have yet to go. Oh well retirement in two years:2thumbs:

Ok, I found a Very nice 24 2.8 Maxxum that will round out the mini group.

Not brought, but a free gift :dance2:

My partner came home with it a couple of weeks ago and said that one of her work colleagues had brought it in for me as she knew I liked cameras.

    Pentax MZ60.jpg

Its a bit plastic and nothing like the MX I had in the late seventies but I put a new battery in and away it went.

An example from the test roll ....

Lovely shot! I love your new camera and I really like what I see with the Agfa Vista 200, must shoot a roll of this as I have a few rolls in my stash.

Well the comparison had to happen. You don't have to guess which one you grabbed. The F100 is almost twice as heavy fully loaded. It's thicker heavier and just yells, I'm tough. N%26M-XL.jpg I was afraid it was going to eat my new prize. I was worried at first because the Minolta didn't have an AF on button for back button focus. Now I found you can BBF three different ways. Geez, Maybe it will cook Dinner Lol.

Thanks for this comparison picture, as I have been looking for the F100 as well LOL! I can see which one I would pick up for my purse :). I can now stop looking for a F100, especially since I have a F601.

Don't get me wrong, I love my F100. Its an amazing tool that can get with the program , but the Minolta is equally special . It's compact agile and easy to get around on, with a feature set that is truly something else, with one problem I see. It will not focus track with the rear buttons. At least I haven't found a way yet. Score 1 for the F100.

Edit: Game changer. The Minolta lets you take the film out mid roll, say frame 17, Leaves the leader out after the rewind and will then at a later time take that film cartridge back to frame 17 after being reinserted into the camera. I have wanted this.

Here's the Agfa Isolette II. I'll be loading it up and trying it out on a trip to North Wales at the weekend.

Cheap, mildly dirty, black X-570 arrived last night. Shutter seems to fire the same on all settings - off to the shop :)

Have you checked the battery? Dead battery: No shots, just "shutter" clicks ... (electronically controlled shutter - maybe it even has an emergency setting? My Nikon FE/FE2 bodies do ...).

Here's a nice bit of information about that camera: The Rokkor Files - The Minolta X-570 / X-500

I did try two sets of batteries. The meter works and the BEEP sounds worked as appropriate. Shutter sounded the same even on Aperture Priority as well as manually setting the shutter speed, including bulb. shutter opens and closes. It's packaged to ship to the shop tomorrow.

Well after playing with the Maxxum 7 for a bit, I'll have to say it is the easiest auto film camera to shoot with ever, with a custom menu set that is on par with the F100 or better. A better report will be coming this weekend. This is a very highly praised camera in any forum. Glad I got this one.

Was going to suggest APUG (Analog Photo User Group) but they seem to have amalgamated with some others as PHOTRIO - you can still filter by Analog by the looks of it.

It looks lovely! I have just got back from my trip to Mexico and shot 4 rolls on the Maxxum 5, will have to see what I get as I wasn't too sure about the AF points, I think I might have quite a few shots with off focus points. We'll see. It's a place I have been to many times so won't be overly disappointed if they don't turn out, I'll be happy with even just a few good shots.

Hey Cerita, hope you had a great time in Mexico. I like the grip. Wish I had bought the 1.4 50mm. Oh well not too bad with the 1.7, the 24 is cool. I'll have some pics soon.
