Leica Showcase Voigtlander 50mm f/1.1 Nokton

Life's too short. Tough week, a friend passed away very suddenly from pneumonia.

50/1.1 Nokton, wide-open on the M9.

Brian,

I can relate to your pain. Almost a year ago I lost a dear friend to the old 'gun cleaning accident.'

Tried shooting with the Nokton f1.1 and it's definitely not easy nailing the focus at f1.1... Gets more difficult when the light is low too. The rangefinder is hard to see.
Anyway, here are some images taken in low light.

Most look good.

With the first shot: I use the "Sparkle in the Eye" for the focusing with the RF. Makes a nice point source.

The 50/1.1 Nokton is territory that most will not go. I find using it with the RF is far easier than focusing the 55/1.2 on the Nikon Df.
