Sony Video with NEX 3

The video function appears to be viewed by Sony as an added nuisance that they feel obliged to include but don't really expect anyone to use. Neither manuals or software are especially helpful,...for example, the printed owners manual tells one nothing apart from extreme basics that you can work out for yourself such as to start recording you push the video button,...and that sound interferance can be avoided by turning off the recorded sound,..!!?!

The 'PMB' software is no more helpfull and apparently allows one to "trim" movies but not to edit them or join clips together..........

Is there anyone 'out there' using the NEX 3 for simple edited video?......what software/methods do you use?........what file formats, ie., 'HD fine', 'HD std' or 'VGA' do you use?.......And, have you been able to use/send the completed movies?

Anyother info about this gratefully received.

I myself have taken a few, but done no post editing.
