I had the RX1 before and one of it's biggest flaw was it's slow AF and lag time. I tested a friends RX1R and though I can't compare them side by side since I don't have the RX1 anymore, it felt like the AF has improved, mainly in locking focus to a subject.

I've read conflicting reports however, most people who said they owned both did not see an improvement in this area while some review sites like Thom Hogan, Steve Huff and Photographyblog all claimed the RX1R has improved the AF speed.

Can someone here who had used both system chime in and advise? I'm willing to pay a few extra hundred dollars for the RX1R if the AF has really improved.
