Single in January 2015 - Outtakes

Have found a better way to process my IR pics. First step is to shoot in RAW to bypass the in-camera demosaicing. Second is to avoid importing with LR as it demosaics the RAW giving a very pink image. Third is to swap the R and B channels in anything other than LR or PS. My current preference is Zoner Photo Studio Pro 16. Finally there are quite interesting false colours going this way. To get the original RAW as a jpg I convert in Faststone Image Viewer.

First image is the jpg version of the ooc RAW.

Second image is after channel swap in Zoner.

Finally here is a RAW imported into LR. Work OK for mono conversion but not false colour.

This looks a little more tinted than I saw it on screen before - possibly a little of in WB ...

Not the greatest of subjects, but a nice symbol for the challenge itself: Perseverence - a small and maybe even neglected plant still makes it through the winter ...

I had business and pleasure at the last weekend of the challenge, and could get some nice pics (= a lot of outtakes) @ Willingen Germany, Ski Jumping World Cup.

Fuji X100S wasn't actually the best possible tool for these, but I had the challenge, what else could you do?!

Here are some (my Flickr has more sequels):

José, that first one is classic.....and I love the color processing in the giraffes shot

Thanks Luke, glad you appreciated it!

BTW, I saw that on a previous SiJ, a book was made with a photo front each of the photographers. I would really like to have one from this time around. How would that work? Not sure if this question should be placed on a different thread...

José
