From the full press release:
This is big news that I overlooked when the announcement was made. This will give me peace of mind when buying from them in the future. I think Sigma is on a roll. The DP Merrills are generally well-received unlike the previous DP cameras, their lenses are performing like premium competitors at a drastically lower price, and they've been consistently adding features in their firmware updates to the Merrills and Sigma Photo Pro (e.g. Monochrome mode).
In addition to the announcement of the industry’s first Mount Conversion Service, Sigma is also extending the warranty on all of its products – including cameras, lenses and flashes purchased on or after July 1, 2013 – to four years.
