Thanks guys, that's so funny. On the second day, I went to the site with 2 other photographers including the one that inspired me to get into seascaping. He had just returned to do seascapes, with my prompting and an absence of around a year. He gave up well before the time that shot was taken as it was "uninspired" and my more usual shooting companion did shortly aftwards.
The light just kept getting better but to the south and not towards the sun itself.
I thought it was a great morning and I may have to do more solo shooting. That spot on those two days was very dangerous with swells of around 5m and 3.5m respectively. A normal swell is around 1.4m.
