The important or perhaps quite revealing bit is this: Bokeh depends heavily(!) on how you post process. I'll be a lot more wary about good/bad/smooth/nervous bokeh descriptions from now on. Lots of tools in post do influence it, sometimes to a major degree. I have to look into this a lot more before I can be more specific, but let me just say that I had one the shots completely(!) mangled in post - it was fixable (mostly) by retracing my steps, but it took some close inspection.
