One of the main reasons I purchased the Ricoh was for its compact size as I did not have a compact camera and will be heading out to northern New Mexico in June for a 80+ mile hiking trip over 11 days.

I've purchased 2 extra batteries and of course a couple 8 gig SD cards.

I just received the Think Tank Pee Wee Pixel Pocket Rocket organizer yesterday and it is going to work out perfectly for my needs. The compact flash slots fit the Ricoh's batteries and it also has 3 slots for SD cards.

Cool, dorfinator. You're going to have an amazing trip and you must promise to give us a photographic report with backstory, too!

Don't forget you can take some AAA batteries with you as well, perhaps in a torch or something, and use them in the GRD3 if you need to.

Thanks for the reminder. I will be taking AAAs for my headlamp and AAs for my torch. I've also ordered the Thinktank battery organizer too. I've heard of some horror stories with batteries lose in a zip lock bag shorting.

Granted the AAAs in the Ricoh won't last long but when you need the shot it's nice to know they're an option.
