Panasonic LX7 macro - ball bearing

    I found this small ball bearing, approx. 2.5 mm diameter (but looks smaller), when it fell onto the floor from who-knows-where. I was curious whether it had any particular topographical features, or was merely a smooth globe, indicating the origin perhaps. It looks smooth in this Panasonic LX7 macro, enough to reflect the photographer. f2.8, 1/100 handheld, ISO 80.

    You really need to click on this image. The detail in the reflection is pretty nice.

    It does set the tone in a way - the patina is well developed on that 1945 coin.
