Gold award, but more importantly the results look good. It's big but there's a lot of capability there. Not a video guy, but the longer zoom reach really appeals to me. Michael Reichmann Luminous Landscapes seemed disappointed in the lens performance over 300, but DPR doesn't seem bothered. If nothing else, it may drive the price of the Stylus 1 down.

It provides real competition for the Sony RX10.

It's almost as big as a Nikon D3xxx with a super zoom lens and more expensive to boot. But if you're into video it looks really exciting.

Thanks. I'm really interested in the Fz-1000.

So much so that Sony recently dropped the RX10's MSRP from $1299 to $998. Not a sale price. I just wish the FZ1000 had weather resistance. I know. It's always something.

Yup! I purchased my RX10 about a month and half before the price went down...
