On the "Bramble Bush Bay" chain ferry at Sandbanks

Thank you Paul, I'm honoured.

A very early chain ferry service was that across the Plym started in the early 1800's which ceased in 1827 when a bridge was built, just upstream from where I grew up. I think it may have been the first such service in the world. That old bridge lasted until the 1960's to be replaced by the one I cross now going into Plymouth. The most intensive chain ferry service is that across the Tamar linking Plymouth to Torpoint with up to three ferries running at peak times.

Impeccable black and whites as usual.
