Now for something at the opposite end of the large-ish compact scale. This camera's sensor is tiny (1/3.1 inch), so despite its 13 megapixels there's a loss in quality due to the sensor size. The remainder of the loss seen here is due to the daytime heat propagated across the field shown here. f5.3, 1/500, ISO 125.

The heat does sort of give it a post-processing type look

I am impressed. It looks great, coming from small sensor.

I think it looks darn good - wonderful as a matter o' fact (be sure to click on that tiny picture!) How big is this camera? Does my XF1 have to worry?

Take the average $10 Hohner harmonica, the S02 is about 60 percent as long, 50 percent wider, and half as thick. Very small. Not hard to handle though, except stabilizing can be difficult - the best way is probably to grab the wrist strap and pull until taut, like some of those accessories that use a tensing wire.

Here's another similar landscape with a bit more drama in the sky. f5.9, 1/800, ISO 125.
