My husband's cousin's daughter's new baby Archie! Big learning curve for me. Took a bagful of cameras/lenses but overall I'd say the RX1 with the 35mm 2 lens gave me the most keepers. Lighting was poor and skin tones a problem. Any advice for further forays much appreciated!

The last one might not win any prizes but I like it!

My advice: Keep doing what you did. Your choices for convenience, for easy handling, probably allowed a more intimate and compelling photo set.

I can't be natural at this, for every time I'm asked to do any sort of memorable facial portrait, I always feel this pressure looming on me as I start to compose. The one thing that always rings in my head at this time though is "Don't shoot wide open!". Works for me anyway. Nice pics!
