My Leica Oskar Barnack Award submission...

    Hi Everyone. I thought I'd share my entry to the Barnack award this year. Please let me know what you think, but be easy on me :wink:

    The images were made with a mix of Leica M6/film, Fuji X100, and EOS 5DmkII...

    David, those photographs and their theme are very moving. I found many quite thought provoking and not a little bit sad. You are so right that most of us still think of a pilot's life as being glamourous and exciting...kind of like the "Mad Men" ( ) of the air, if you know what I mean. Even without your explanations, your photographs tell the story clearly and with pathos.

    That scene within the hotel is very eerie and reminds me so much of the terrible interior in The Shining. Very powerful. My other favorites are the loneliness one and the exhaustion one.
