Leica M9 with Canon 35/1.5

Raid

All-Pro
I used my Canon 35mm/1.5 with the M9 this past weekend. I used a Canon W 50 lens hood which resulted in some vignetting. Now I think there is no need for any lens hood since the front glass is recessed in the 35/1.5.
I will leave the images without any editing or PS to show you what you get from jpg files.

Handling the lens was easy, but the infinity lock sometimes annoyed me. The M9 has been working very well and without any "going to sleep" since I switched it from discrete mode to standard mode for frame advance.

These look really good- that 35/1.5 was ahead of its time.

I'd like to pick one up eventially- make it an F1.5 trio to go with the 50 and 85. I am surprised that the 100 goes for so much less than the Leica and Nikon versions, the performance was amazing for the age and speed. Likewise- the performance of your 35mm lens.

It was labeled a dog for many years until my marathon comparison of 30 or so 35mm lenses. The 35/1.5 surprised people with how good it actually was. It may have a temper that you must control, but it does very well on the M9. I have the Canon 35, 50, 85 all in 1.5 max aperture.

The 100mm Canon lens is one of the best 100mm lens out there. It may have a tendency to collect haze , but several Canon lenses have such a challenge.
