Lewis Hine: photographer who helped the children unless adults

Me thinks that title is merely the title of the unusual translation of the article.;)

Lewis Hine is very famous and part of the historical fabric of photography...both social documentary and "street"... And he only began in his thirties! Here's a handy link: Lewis Hine / Biography & Images - Atget Photography.com No study of the history of photography can be complete without Lewis Hine.

Many thanks serhan!

I did some spanish at school and I would translate "el fotógrafo que ayudó a los niños a no ser adultos" almost exactly like babelfish, this way: "the photographer who helped children not to be adults". I think the original sentence itself is a bit weird, but the point is that I think he helped raise awareness on children's labor at the time ("las secuelas del trabajo infantil").

Exactly, Julien. Hines was definitely trying to show the terrible realities of child labor and was instrumental in raising awareness and putting a stop to it.
