    image.

I was considering getting a used M9 so that I could shoot graffiti since I don't really print those images anyway. Decided to try color film and scanning first to save some money, since I have access to a scanner as part of my photo lab membership. Still not convinced that film is a better option than the M9, scanning is very tedious and need way more PP.

  3. I had a conversation about the relative purely financial costs of film versus digital a while back. Given that top-notch film cameras can be had for beans these days and film / self processing isn't that expensive, it's still cost-effective to use film as equivalent, top end DSLRs / rangefinders cost thousands.

Portra 160 and 400 are probably my 2 most favourite colour films as they are pretty colour-neutral and they scan / convert to mono really well. If there was only one colour film I could use - I'd choose Portra 400.

Just got my first scans back today, this is the first time I've used my recently purchased medium format camera so I was ecstatic when I saw the photos came out correctly exposed and (generally) in focus! I used a light meter app on my phone so I wasn't sure how close it would be to a proper one, but it clearly worked a charm...

I've been carrying around my Olympus 35RC loaded with Portra 400 the past couple of months. I visit a lot of waterfalls and rivers. Here are some favorites from the results I just got back today.

Recently ran a roll of Portra 400 through my Fujica Super-6. Mostly great results from the 6x6, although I did mess up a couple of frames.

Here are some shots from a free roll of Portra 400 that came with one of my recent camera purchases, I am sure it was expired. I am not sure I like this film but then again it might be the amateur in me that has lots to learn. I used it with the OM1/50mm 1.8. I only shot 24 frames and out of that I got maybe 10 that I am sort of happy with.

Nice composition in the 3rd picture. the juxtaposition of light and dark leads the eye to the center of the image.

Something was obviously malfunctioning in my Pentax 67, but I like the result :)

    Double-exposures are happy accidents :)
Is the Pentax 67 a double or single wind camera ?

Single wind. I either mishandled it, or something is whacky in it.

Well, not always - my Voigtländer Bessa RF is a lovely camera, but it (for better or worse) it doesn't have double exposure prevention. I'm getting better at it, but sometimes, I lose good frames to my lack of concentration. Artem's shot is very interesting, though ...
