I see that VenusLens has come up with a new 60mm 2x macro lens -- Laowa 60mm f/2.8 2X Ultra-Macro -- and that prompted me to fool around with the macro function on the Olympus 12-50 lens.
Push the MACRO button on the side of the lens, slide the zoom ring all the way forward (toward the objective end of the lens) and -- presto! -- you have an 86mm (e) macro lens.
Here's a wide angle snap of an ivy plant, focusing on the "elbow" in the middle of the frame:

And here it is in macro with the 2x digital zoom engaged:
One of the problems with handheld macro and razor thin depth of field is my own wobble tends to mess up the focus:
