Some friends of ours moved from Boston to Charleston SC about 2 years ago, and they had everyone down to a rented beach house on Isle of Palms this last weekend. Saturday was glorious, Sunday rained... so the pictures are almost from two completely different places.

As always, they're just family/friend snapshots.

Looks beautiful Kyle, particularly on Saturday. And Sunday in it's own way. I always love seeing and hearing the beach, even on days I'd rather stay indoors. Good you weren't there a few weeks ago during the floods!

I really love the first shot, even though there aren't any people in it. Really evokes a mood and a damn nice mood at that... Sun coming up on a peaceful scene with lots of water in it, and warmth, at least implied warmth!

I did this trip with all primes. Usually I'd just toss the 18-55 on and leave it until nightfall, but I like to mix it up. So in the bag I usually had the Rokinon 12 f2 (the top photo of the pool, and my selfie), the XF23 f1.4 with a circ polarizer during the day / no filter at night (second photo of 3 girls lined up, Megan sitting on her bike in the road, girls and their bikes at the end of the pier, Annika twirling the umbrella), and the 56 f1.2 (vertical beach shot with houses behind, megan in the cemetery, branches on the beach). At one point, I put the 27 pancake + circ polarizer on it to carry the camera into the surf, held high over my head, and that's what was on the shot of her jumping waves.

Lots of switchyswitchy all the time, but some good shots to show for it. I go back and forth...
