As posted over at Leica Place I've been able to modify a Cullman quick release plate such that it can stay in place on the Leica D-Lux and still allow for the battery to be removed. The Cullman shoe is a plastic material and so lends itself to being modified using hand tools only if that's all that is available. I can then carry the D-Lux on a modified flash bracket which, with large hands, I find much easier to hold than the camera alone. I imagine that I'd also find the Panasonic LX100 a little small and therefore uncomfortable to hold, even with its inbuilt hand grip.

I'm not really in a position to offer any thoughts on the camera as a photographic tool, I have to admit to only taking it out for one photographic shoot since obtaining it, my mind has been diverted by other issues and I am currently totally lacking in any creative ability when it comes to photography.
