I am planning to purchase the Sony RX100 II. Can the display be configured to show the Histogram before the photo is taken?

Welcome to the forum! I don't have a RX100ii or the original. But hopefully someone who has it will chime in soon.

Welcome to the forum. The Mk1 can be set to display the histogram, and I presume that the Mk2 is the same.

It's a slightly odd arrangement, however: the histogram can be selected as an option on a cycle-through of "pages" on the Display button. (Up to five options can be enabled for this button). If the histogram is selected, then scrolling through the options will (at some point) show the histogram - but not much else. The rest of the shooting information can be accessed by continuing through the cycle.

Hope this helps. Apologies if it's not very clear - it's actually somewhat difficult to explain this concisely!:frown:

you can have a live histogram displayed OR your shooting parameters OR just your live view uncluttered. But you can't have your shooting parameters and a live histogram at the same time which is a bummer for some folks.

You certainly managed to put it more concisely than I did...
