Speaking as a former MIEE (Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers) I think Mr Faraday would have thought it the height of modernity and Messrs Swann, Westinghouse and Edison would have felt very much at home

As an apprentice and a young engineer in the 1960's I saw panels not to far removed from that in the old A station at Plymouth, parts of the building dated back to its inception in 1893 and the oldest working machinery (a rotary convertor to convert 6,600 volts ac to 560 volts dc by Bruce Peebles of Edinburgh) was built in 1917.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Looks like some things where I work, lol. A 100 year old steel mill with a mix of technology from 1917 to present.
