It's all EntropicRemnant's fault that I now have the Panny 35-100 :) Anyways, I'm reinvesting in M43 after decreasing my gear for a while. M43 is still my favorite format -- I enjoy the cameras, the newer sensors are solid, and the lenses are fantastic. The 35-100 in particular is surprisingly light and small for the spec. Having used Canon 70-200s in the past, this is an astonishingly small lens for the spec.

Here are 4 test images (nothing fancy) from a stroll along the coast. G5 and 35-100, Raw, LR5.

It is a surprisingly small lens. Glad you are putting it to good use!

It is really good for portraits at full zoom and wide open, too.

Nice photos. It is my favorite also. I used it on my vacation in combo with RX1..

Thanks John! I'm thinking the same thing about portraits at 100mm. I have some shots from when I had the 45-200 at around 100mm and f4.8. The 45-200 is a decent lens for the price, and at 100mm made a pretty good portrait lens. The 35-100 will take it up a notch or two, and will be very useful for a certain style o portraiture. I can tell already that I'm really going to enjoy this lens.

Thanks! Interesting that you mention the RX1. I also enjoy using a tele zoom like the 35-100 or a tele prime AND a 35mm equivalent wide. Just a nice 1-2 combo. So far I have been successful at resisting the RX1, and will go with the 17 + 25 + 35-100 for the regular kit, and I'll toss in an UWA soon to fill the wide end.

But, Stan: wherever can you get such an ultrawide?... 'tis a problem to be pondered...

Ha ha! Louis, that was one of those inside jokes. Stan actually just bought my 7-14mm from me, lol.

I hope it's a reusable, "green", cloth bag made of natural materials. Otherwise I shall have to make your mules into chorizo.
