Thanks for confessing, John. I use a cordless electric mower, but the new house has a bit more yard and I can only get about halfway done before the battery dies. I've always like the look and the "sound" of an old reel mower. I think I may get one to complement/replace the electric since I can't stand the sound of gas powered mowers.

I now wear ear muffs when I mow ....... the latest B & S engine is so noisy - as they are made in the US maybe you are all getting deaf over there, or could it be my age

More OT - I have just read a posting from a guy in Japan who says they are still a few LNIB - unused RD1s for sale in Japan ..........
