Ringed Plover I think Sue. Perhaps someone could confirm that. Very lucky they are still intact, I almost stood on them. These are on a fairly busy beach. Holiday makers and sheep.

Some kind of Plover sounds about right. Now I think of it, those eggs are very like our Plovers' eggs. Stupid birds lay them in the open and then get narked when they get broken or run over (yes, they do, some plovers lay their eggs on the road.)
