Now, I have not even updated to latest firmware for my XE/1 and 55/200. Combo. But, I trotted off to the MCG in melbourne to take in an Aussie rules footy match between Collingwood and some other bunch (GWS). Fair dinkum to the authorities there for not jumping on me when I pulled out the combo to snap away.

Using a mixture of focus, continuous focus, manual infinity and shutter mash......at ISO3200-6400 to get reasonable shutter speeds, these are some of the results.

When I got back to my cuz's house we ran them through her top of the range Panasonic TV. THEY WERE SIMPLY STELLAR. Bearing in mind I have permanent tremor of the left hand they looked so sharp, colourful, and without the fuzzy graininess of the high iso.

These don't do it justice here on the net. They looked disappointingly ordinary on my iPad and an LCD computer monitor. As you can see, these are cropped to isolate action.

Cheers

Pete

pete they look pretty good to me. i tried out that lens with xp1 in the store and my wife said 'isnt that the size you were trying to get away from when you sold your canon?' tbh,i was surprised at how big the lens was myself, but it is obviously a very good performer. i think your results are awesome.

btw, isnt it 'you bet your sweet bippy? (laugh-in tv show) :)

. Cheers. It's the hood makes it look big, and it weighs far less than the 70/200L Canon.

I did know it was bippy, but I thought I'd use a play on words, ie, bet on your nippy 55/200.

All the best

Pete
