I wasn't expressing an aesthetic critique of Barrie's photos.
I just saw an odd artifact (something I'd never seen before anywhere, let alone in Barrie's work - which has always marked by it's technical excellence).

Those are some great pics of men at work...these pics would have never looked any better in the colored version..black and white picture still has the glory.
