Ive used my friends g1x and loved it sooo much. But i found a similar one which is the t3i.

The t3is got 18 mega pix while g1x only has 14 but the picture quality is sooo great tho.

Its really great for portrait. But i really dont know about o ther function cuz i havent tried the t3i either so i dont know.

The price is about the same g1x is slightly cheaper.

Please recommend the best one for portrait pics please. Thanks!!

With the T3i you have a huge selection of selections that you could use with (at a price of course), some of which might be better suited to portraiture than the zoom lens on the G1X. If you're comparing the two cameras with only the stock 18-55mm kit lens on the T3i, I'd take the G1X for most purposes.

And when you choose the Rebel, you have to move to another forum... here compacts only !!! :laugh1:

The 60mm 2.8 EF-S macro is a particularly sweet portrait lens for a crop sensor Canon. I own one and highly recommend it.

The T3 is going to be more expandable with lenses, and bring you into the sickness of the DSLR world ....As someone else said, if you are not going to go down that path of expanding with more lenses, I would get the G1x.
