I always buy weird old lenses I find at flea markets, yard sales, etc. I must have bought this one lens I have decades ago and kept it in my "junk box".

While going through these lenses lately, I discovered I had an old lens, that I probably paid five dollars or so for. Looking it up, I discovered it was an extremely rare and valuable lens. It was used to shoot many of the Keystone Comedies and silent features. It was the high end movie lens of its era in the early 1900's.

This is the same lens on eBay: (this eBay one was converted to a Leica mount by a third party)

Mine is a "C-Mount" cinema lens. I put it on my Sony A7II with an adapter, and it is as sharp as hell. A great lens. Here's a photo I took with it:

* in the back of my mind I have this idea to take portraits of a lot people I know with this lens, make a series of them. I'll probably never get around to it but I like the idea.
