An amazing off-trail adventure in the Nature Preserve today. We climbed up steep slopes from the valley floor, and carefully traversed along and just below the soaring rock cliffs at an elevation of about 7500 feet. Then we ascended the rock chimney to the top of the mesa, and had lunch whilst marveling at the views.
The incredible formations, trees, shrubs, cacti, and vast vistas were magical, as were the stillness and solitude.
