A day into town

So we get up and jump into the shower, then leave the home near the woods and go for the big target over there - that is, Turin. First capital, a showpiece of planned architecture, a corner of central-eastern Europe inside Italy - home of culture, industries and, mostly, chocolate.

We enter it just near the royal palace, and meet a nice huge nativity scene.

We chat with friends, have lunch, and any moment is good for a coffee in one of the many historical venues for the tiny cup of black, and endless chocolate.

After a long walk, I have a short time to play with all the cameras I didn't play yet - it seems I'm not going to leave the mu43 fold, as the GX1 is really nice and I Want One. Meanwhile, someone had other, different plans.

Someone is very, very happy. di alfrjw, su Flickr

I begin to see things. But it's real. Time for a long nice aperitivo.

Then, out for another long walk in the lights.

We are not alone, this gallery was full of heavy geared photographers with huge DSLRs training their skills on the sky above. Artificial.

Time to slowly head back. Something to eat near the square (Ligurian, wow) and into the lights again.

Behind the royal palace, again. I love the geometry of this corner of the square.

Then you turn, and the ancient gate is there.

One more, then towards the country again.

And tomorrow, East for the new year. See you there!

Alf, please can I come along next time? I promise I won't by anything that I can't eat or drink.:D

What a great time you had, and I, vicariously! Always interesting, entertaining and full of surprises to tag along with you and yours.

Besides truly enjoying your photographs, I realize what a small life I lead...but that's where I am for right now. Eventually I hope to expand my parameters, until then I travel virtually! Can't wait to see what the morrow brings!:drinks:

Alf, please can I come along next time?
Sure, and there's plenty to see (and my dearest lived there 20 years, so she knows every corner and chocolate place).
Just prepare for the moment we summon our courage, cross the pond and invade! NYC is very present inside our myths, but little of what we know is based on reality - we'll have a lot of questions then..
