Exit Through the Gift Shop

Exit Through the Gift Shop is a very odd little film that I watched yesterday and keep coming back to in my thoughts.

It's at least mostly a documentary about Thierry and Banksy, where Thierry is the earnest-but-obsessed camera man and Banksy is an elusive street artist. Catch is, Thierry isn't actually making a film, he's just shooting footage because he enjoys that -- so Banksy starts to make a film about Thierry, coming back around to the source, as it were.

It's a really interesting exploration about the boundaries of the art world (and some of its definite craziness), along with questions about what makes an artist.

Definitely worth seeing, it's one of my four favorites for 2010 films. Trailer can be found here.
