This weekend a big group of friends organized a weekend up north in a huge rented cabin to celebrate someone's birthday. One of the guests was a friend of friends who is a professional photographer, and a good one, so I was excited / intimidated. I'm at that stage where I am "professional curious" I guess you'd call it, where I am beyond basic community college classes, and really need to shadow pros to keep getting better. She's wonderful, and humors me, and I've been careful not to hound her to death. Mostly I shut up and watch. I haven't seen her shots yet, but mine are posted to facebook where everyone could see them, so I'm really anxious to see what she posts. Mostly I didn't think about it much, and just did my thing. Such a great weekend. Camera was all the XT1, and lenses were a pretty even mix of 18-55 (mostly outdoors during the day), 35 f1.4 and 56 f1.2.

Another friend's daughter. The 56 is a staggeringly, frighteningly good piece of glass... look at her eyelashes on the full-size file on flickr

The 56 indoors at night makes everything sooooo much easier.
