My new motto

Occasionally we are touched by people we have never met. A colleague of a friend died last week. He was a greatly respected surgeon but a bit of a curmudgeon (aren't they all?).

My mate went to the funeral and found out amongst other things that the guy spent his weekends making breakfast for homeless people.

And that he rang his wife, his three sons, and his three brothers, every day.

And that he told his boys, "Any time people are singing Happy Birthday, join in. It's nice to make people happy. And you might get some cake."

I'm adopting this as my new motto.

Thank you, Russ.

As a good friend of mine has reminded me over the years - one won't be remembered for what "position" one held in life, but who one touched while here.

I like your new motto very much.
