B U L L E T I N
Sophos reports a 'phishing' scam which purports to suggest your Gmail
account will be closed down unless you visit a web page to confirm your
details. The web page is setup to act as a genuine Google form (and indeed
it is hosted on a Google Docs site), but it is fake. There is an example of
the scam email in the Sophos link below.

Needless to say this is not true - just another attempt by malicious
hackers to get hold of your email and Google account details.

You know, I got something that seemed weird today from Paypal...it looked real but I've never heard of them telling me that my browser may need to be updated.:confused: I suppose I should report it or check it out further.

They are getting more sophisticated. If ever in doubt just go to the web site for that company yourself, instead of clicking a link, and dig around for a similar message.
 
Or copy and paste the offending / suspicious text and do a search on google/bing etc. You'll usually find links to half a dozen other sites, including the security sites, indicating that it is dodgy.
