Panasonic Two new things I learned about the FZ200

1. Under the Scenes menu, the FZ200 has a very effective "through glass" mode. I sometimes like to photograph the bird feeder from the comfort of our sun room. In "P" mode, the autofocus sometimes locks up on the window, and I have to use manual focus to convince it otherwise. But in Through Glass mode, the autofocus quickly and reliably locks on whatever I chose to focus on beyond the double-pane windows.

2. If you have digital zoom or I-zoom enabled and you get into the digital portion of the zoom range while shooting raw or raw + jpeg, DXO Optics 9 will decide that the raw file is corrupted and won't open it. If you stay within the optical portion of the zoom range, even if digital zoom is enabled. DXO will open the raw files just fine. DXO will open jpgs even if they are digitally zoomed by the camera.

Cheers, Jock
