Rising Sun, Morning Mist

A scene that made me stop my car on the way to work this morning and nearly made me late -- and DID make my legs VERY wet. The long grass was loaded with dew and I waded into it to get the right framing with the 35mm perspective.

But the sun just looked amazing rising behind the low hanging fog. Taken with my little Fuji X100.

Nice! So many times I have wanted to stop on the way to work for a sunrise and passed it by due to traffic or schedule. Congrats on taking the time and getting a great one.

Wonderful picture, John. But do a quick experiment.
(1) cover the sun;
(2) cover the dark tree in the right hand side.
I think the picture is all about the tree, not the sun.

Ha ha -- well the imaginary picture you describe WOULD be for sure... but that's not how I saw this one. The tree is a balancing aesthetic element for my purposes but it is one of the few major elements in a photo which has been simplified by darkness and fog.
