All X series cameras are AF only in any of the advanced filter modes. Why? I couldn't say, but it's a conscious decision rather than a glitch.

I've had really good success with tracking on the X-E2. It had a pretty high (though not perfect) hit rate even when shooting my son rushing towards me pushing a bin, while indoors using the 56/1.2 wide open. He was moving quite steadily at me in both these shots. He was crawling...

It's not a standard lens. It's a short telephoto. 35mm is a standard lens on APS-C.

Well isn't this just peachy. I've had the 56mm for two weeks now, and in those two weeks, I've had two separate lenses have problems. My first 56mm had a faulty focus motor, where the AF clutch couldn't engage. As a result, when the lens was pointed up or down, the focusing group would slide...

Watch out on the Vari-NDs, especially the cheaper ones. I have a super cheap Neewer Vari-nD that looks surprisingly good on the 23/1.4...no visible image degradation, even at 6 stops of filtering. Put it on my 56 in bright sun and it's awful. Massive loss of sharpness and it creates horrible...

I didn't receive notification yet, but if you go to your order status online, my guess is it says "in stock, sent to warehouse" as ours do. That means shipping today.

Mine just got sent to the warehouse for shipping from B&H...I should have it tomorrow! Very excited.

I actually think they are an incredible value. The optical quality is on par (or even exceeds in some cases) the pro grade lenses from Canon and Nikon that generally cost about 50% more.

I second the request for any tips on your post processing workflow. The images are excellent, but you are doing wonders with the tonal range in these images: punchy, contrasty, but with gorgeous soft smooth transitions. That's very hard to achieve.

That's the 45 day reminder. They could still get them in even today...doesn't mean anything other than they still haven't received the shipment. With X-T1s arriving, I'm hopeful the 56s won't be far behind. I am hoping to get it in the next two weeks at least.

I'm just waiting on my 56/1.2 preorder, which I did at like 5AM at B&H the day of announcement. B&H shows early March for current orders (not sure if that's for ALL orders). The more I see from this lens, the more I am itchy waiting for it, and it's like it can't come soon enough. After this...

The Touit 32mm actually has significantly higher CA than the Fuji 35mm.

Any 100% crops at f/1.2?

You have a lemon, then. My 23 is notably sharper than my 35 at f/1.4.
