Nikon Not much love for Nikonā€™s F mount or older DSLRs

I am sticking with the F mount. F90X, FE2, EM, selection of Series-E lenses, AI lenses, AF and AF-D lenses. All usable with my D300s and D700. It is a very affordable way to enjoy my hobby, with great results. As long as the bodies last and the lenses are available, I wont be moving from that...

Why are there no street photographers using superzooms?

The problem is that it is not possible to be "in the scene" with a telephoto/zoom lens, the angles are all wrong. An analogy would be, you need binoculars to have a view of a wide scene when stargazing and a telescope for deeper sky tracking.

Why are there no street photographers using superzooms?

Agreed, the telephoto compression is a major drawback. You lose the background. https://www.findingtheuniverse.com/lens-compression-in-photography-how-changing-focal-length-changes-the-photo/

interesting article about film vs. digital (as relates to cinematography)

Fascinating. Although I would disagree with the statements made that the process is technology agnostic as it replaces film. A great read nonetheless.

    Film Film scanner advice

The challenges I have with flatbed scanners is that they collect dust. Lots of dust. And in places not easy to access, such as the inside of the glass on the flatbed. The higher the resolution the worse it gets.

Well, could not find an adaptor. You might have better luck sourcing a laptop with rs-232 such as an old thinkpad (T40 series I think), they last forever and I have two in storage. The also have an optional docking station. Ebay has them for around $100 with docking station.

Film What FILM (!) photography related item did you buy this week?

Got a couple fond holgas and Diana fs. Fun to use but unreliable and unpredictable results. Be ready to part with a lot of cash as development is not cheap and lots of shots will be unusable.

    Show your face, veterans

Two great grand fathers died in WW1, a third one lost part of his skull replaced by a metal plate and was gassed.
