I read a lot of different forums too and find it hard to remember what OP's say after reading all of the responses. I can't wait until the full reviews come out for the Canon G7X. If the LX 100 was smaller, cheaper, and had a built in flash, I'd consider it also.

Are the effects something that has to be done when taking the picture or can they be done to an existing image without destroying the original?

I looked at Best Buy on the internet and both cameras are available through Best Buy. I don't know if they are both in stock at the store, however. I'll call one or two of the locations in Knoxville to find out.

Does the RX 100 do HDR? I've been looking at the RX 100 and the Fuji X 20 to replace my smaller sensor Samsung TL 350. Anyone have experience with both cameras to give me an idea which would be better as a pocketable p&s?

I found it. It's the Panasonic TZ200 and the Leica D or V lux 4. It's a constant f/2.8.

Isn't one of their cameras a constant aperture zoom? Maybe I am remembering this wrong, but I thought the camera had a fairly large zoom range, but kept the same aperture throughout the zoom.

I used the panorama feature on my tl 350 last week and was truly amazed at the image. The IQ is not great, but the effect is great. I will try to post the image. Don't know how large it is though. Looks like it is about 1.4mp. I may have to post the image to my profile or album first. DaveO

You're right about the 14-45mm Panasonic lens. I found it at B&H Photo for $ 290 and $ 285 at Amazon. I think the person who told me $ 600 also said they were discontinued and unavailable. DaveO

In a press release, Panasonic said that their new 14-42mm x lens will have better IQ than their old 14-45mm lens and only cost $ 400 which is $ 200 less. DaveO

I have read that the original Panasonic 14-45mm lens in m4/3 was very good but the new 14-42mm was not as good. Are any of the mirror less lenses of high quality enough to get into a system, or would it be better to wait for the Zeiss lenses or spring for a Leica lens? DaveO

Thanks for the comments. I was pleasantly surprised by the colors on the pictures, especially the flowers. I set the camera to contrast +1, sharpness +2, and saturation +1. Someone on one of the forums suggested that for this camera and I agree with them. DaveO

In reviews a picture of the tl 350 shows a 24mm f/ 2.4 lens at wide, but the WB 2000 has a 24mm f/2.4. Is this a slightly different camera or do the new tl 350's come with a 2.4 lens? I guess this is about half a stop so it is really not critical. DaveO

The 1600 ISO pictures were suprisingly good, The 1250 ISO of the little boy was fairly noisy but the light was probably pretty bad. The ISO 100 and 200 were very good. The printing on the umbrella was very crisp and no color fringing. Thanks for posting these. DaveO

The sigma dp 2 only does 320x240 video at 30 fps. This is probably not good enough. Plus it has only a 41mm equivilent lens. The LX 5 looks pretty good , but for an additional $ 40 you can get the Samsung NX 100. Too many choices! Another option is to see what the new Nikon 2.5x crop sensor...
