Interesting, this was my conclusion as well. There may well be some Fuji lenses that let the 40MP sensor outperform the 26, but both the test scenes and my own pretty rudimentary testing makes this seem unlikely with the X100VI.

This is certainly the appeal of the PenF. A jewel like camera. For a zoom I really think the 12-35 is a better bet for the smaller ie non-E-M1/GH4 etc bodies. It is sharper in the center than the 12-40 and better balanced, IMO.

So I stumbled on an E-1 locally for a good price, and I am quite pleased by the output: Oly E-1 + 50-200 cropping is not really an option though!
