Brought out the trusty DP2M, which I haven't shot in a while. Flowers in bloom everywhere, but this red hot poker was a particularly good subject for the Merrill. That camera captures detail like no other.

Yup, the Merrills win it hands done for pure resolution. Amazing resolution. But, kinda clunky to use in most circumstances. I'll love mine in the right setting, but the RX1 comes really close in terms of IQ and beats it hands down in every other way.

Indeed, the Sigma cameras can produce some amazing images. I doubt there is anything with more pure resolution, outside of the Nikon 800e and something in medium format. But colors can be tricky, low light/high ISO is nearly impossible (requiring B&W if the image can be used at all), and the...

I don't think prices on used RX1s are going to drop very much, even if the RX2 rumors prove to be true. The RX1 is so near to being a perfect camera (when you include the EVF!), I think its value (and design) will be pretty timeless.

Really enjoying my"new" RX1, and the look and feel the combination of this Zeiss lens and FF sensor gives. A real 3D feel.
