I joined this group so I could post a recommendation for the person I sold my father's Leica camera equipment to: Sam Shoshan at Classic Connection LLC.
I know little to nothing about Leica camera equipment except my father, who took thousands of slides and photographs in his lifetime, was a...
Well after almost two years with M43. I've decided to finally sell it and go Fujifilm.
Reasons? I simply didn't like the images that I was getting from Lumix. I always felt like the live view and images on the back of the LCD were not accurate representations that I was going after.
Using...
I don't do street photography because I don't want to be photographed on the street.
Street photography with super high contrast black and white is not my cup of tea, I quite like Ming's images but his opinion is his opinion. It doesn't bother me whether I think his opinion suits me or not.
Did the Manly to Spit Bridge walk a few weeks ago.

I really like the look and implementations of the GX8. Physically, it looks like my ideal camera. But I don't think I will be getting it.
It's just the current images that I'm seeing. Just not feeling it.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX8 makes leap to 20MP
Looks like a much needed improvement.
I'll just link this because it has all the links to other places first impressions, videos, sample images etc.
Hot! Panasonic GX8, FZ300, 100-400mm and 25mm lens announced! - 43 Rumors

Going through my M43 shots this year. Forgot about this one. It is slightly out of focus which is why I didn't upload it in the first place but ahh well! I forgot to upload this one by Will Solis, on Flickr
I would get a third party grip for the X-T1. The E-M1/GH4 grips are definitely more comfortable and it is the one thing I would love Fujifilm to add as a first party option.
As long as the photo was taken on a Fujifilm camera, then it's all good.
I started with gear since that was the latest shot that I took.
This is X-E2 with the 18-55mm after I updated the lens firmware to 3.12. Converted in-camera.

I just realized that this thread didn't exist so I decided to create one.
I'll start off with this image.
Fujifilm X-T1 + 23mm F1.4 at F1.4, straight from camera. +2 Highlights/Shadows, Classic Chrome, ISO 800.
I was playing around with these two lenses and I am not a fanboy for any company...
Went up to Barrenjoey headland with the GX7 and Nikon.

Hypothetically, If I did buy today. It would be between the D610 with the 16-35mm F4 and the Sony A7 Mk II with the 16-35mm F4. I really like the 50mm F1.8G on Nikon so that would sway me. It sucks that Sony don't have a cheap, small 50mm F1.8.
I'm saving up to get married next year so I can't...
Two images, same location and time. One I photographed at eye level and the other as low as I could go without an articulating screen. I sure wish all cameras had flippy screens.

After 3 months with the D610. The IQ it gives me is exactly what I wish M43 could deliver.
M43 is AMAZING for close to midrange subjects like macro, food, still life even in low light like concerts or dinners. I find that it really shines in that regard and I would prefer using M43 for those...
It's definitely great for pixel peeping. That's for sure.

Eh I really was underwhelmed by the EOS M. I simply would not buy it.
I'd actually pick the Fujifilm X30 OVER that. Great bright lens built in, fast AF and articulating screen + nice EVF.
you can tell me about sensor sizes and lens choices but I've used both and definitely prefer the latter.
I wish all camera manufacturers looked at the X30 when designing a high end compact. It's just incredible.
Yeah it's a bit on the heavier side and the EVF should be on the side like the X-E2 but other than that, it's an absolute pleasure to use. I prefer manually zooming my lenses and I just...

As Ray said.
I'll get around to posting a sample or two but as of now there should be an abundance of ISO 800+ shots on the internet.
I have no worry about shooting at ISO 1600 and above. I simply haven't found a need to yet.
Some of you probably have seen my photos over in the Fujifilm and M43 image threads but Nikon have loaned me a D610 for a couple of months to shoot with and so I've put aside my usual gear and I've been shooting with the D610 for a few weeks now.
Here are some that I've taken, you will probably...
You know if I bought today. I would get the Sony A7 + 35mm F2.8 (wish it was an F2)
I love the speed and AF of M43 yet I love the rendering and low light of Fujifilm.
Sony seem to have both (yeah not exactly but enough for me)
I hope they also release an 85mm F1.8/F2 to keep the size down.
