    Focus peaking

I'll see what the XE2 will be like and at what price then I'll see how it goes. I'm still looking at the nex6 or a Fuji. Sent from my Nexus 7 using SeriousCompacts mobile app

    Focus peaking

I know the JPG OOC are awesome, which could be the first time I'l shoot jpeg om a camera of that price. But that isn't an issue, I've always shoot RAW and processed my own image.

    Focus peaking

I'll wait for the XE2 anyway since I won't have the money until November. Does the XM1 have the phase detect AF? Can you easily control the aperture, shutter and ISO on it as well as the XE1?

    Focus peaking

John, I like direct controls too, reason I was aiming at the Nex 6 in the Sony system. Regarding Fuji, I have been looking the XA1 and I'm sure you are right, they have a great digital signal processing algorithm. I would love a Fuji like the XE1 but I wish I could try one before getting it...

    Focus peaking

I'll have about $1000 once I sell my current camera, so the EM1 and P5 from Olympus are not possible for me. I can get the GX7 or EX1 but I'll be more interested in getting the NEX 6 with several manual lens like the Nikon 300mm f4.5, the Nikon 100mm f4 or the Vivitar 90mm f2.5. I already have...

    Focus peaking

I'm looking to get a mirrorless in a month and I would like to use old manual lens with it. So the feature of focus peaking sounds more than interesting. How well does it work? Can I use it for wildlife? Can I focus feast with it? Which camera allows this feature? I know Fuji, Sony and the...

Looking for a new camera system

Thanks Temo, it's true that lens wise I would prefer the em5, there is more choices. I still find that there is some noise at low ISO on the em5, nothing too bad but still it's there.

Looking for a new camera system

Maybe I should also look at the GX7, it's coming up soon, the only downsize is the kit lens (though is the 14-42 any good?) and the fact that you cannot get it in black in the US

Looking for a new camera system

yes, that 12-50 is nice for close up but not as sharp as the fuji. I love the way the Fuji camera look but I know the feature of the EM5 would fit me the best with those manual lens. Anyway, maybe I could find a good deal on a EM5 here or on the m4/3 forum. Is the 12-50 sharp enough? I used to...

Looking for a new camera system

Thank Gordon, that's a good sum up from some one who used them. I'm really between the XE1 and the EM5. For me, positive of EM5: + IBIS + Weather sealing + Wide variety of lens For me, positive of XE1: + low noise + sharpness + kit lens + love the control on it (can do the same with any other...

Looking for a new camera system

yeah, I have a good tripod that gets pretty small to carry around the 12-50 seems nice, it's not that sharp, I'll have to remove the close up feature to get something nice.

Looking for a new camera system

I would like a small walk around lens for landscape and nature with possible good close up (1:2 - 1:3 is perfect). A telephoto for wildlife. A fast wide lens for low light landscape. A fast portrait lens (something in the range of 50-90).

Looking for a new camera system

I liked the quasi macro function of the 12-50, though it's not as sharp as the 14-45. Once I get my money, which I hope in a month time frame, I'll try to buy equipment from this forum or the one dedicated to the m4/3. Except if I go Fuji,

what's the difference between the PM2 and the EPL5?
  17. Y

Looking for a new camera system

Thanks to Everhandy, I'm looking at the EPL5 now which seems to get pictures as good as the OMD, the only thing missing is the EVF, better stabilization, and weatherproof. IF I went with the EPL5, what lens should I buy to get something good. I would need a walk around zoom lens and a telephoto...

Looking for a new camera system

Zapatista, why did you sell you XE1? You didn't like or was it more a duplicate of your m4/3 system?
  19. Y

Looking for a new camera system

OK, thank you for that. does anyone who wouldn't mind sharing a RAW file from the OMD or even EPL5 in low light condition or having lost of shadows? I'm sure the one I got came from a pre-production model.

Looking for a new camera system

have you been shooting RAW or JPEG? I will shoot RAW 99-100% of the time. I'm interested to find out more about the dynamic range between the OMD and EX1. It seems like EX1 is way better than the OMD, though I haven't found any good review that compare both.

Looking for a new camera system

I got several RAW files and Lightroom 5 worked with them pretty well, that was my point of getting the RAW files. It's possible that the OMD RAW files where not from the final release of the camera. Les wise, I'm looking ti get 2 good zoom, the rest can be manual lens, so I should be fine.

Looking for a new camera system

Yes, the weight of the equipment is the main reason I want to switch to mirrorless. I do lots of landscape and climbing up mountains isn't the most interesting with a heavy backpack. And I love smaller cameras they just look so good (kind of stupid I know). I'll look into the EPL5, it could be...

Looking for a new camera system

thanks, I'm still reading around about the Fuji E1... looks fun. Too bad I cannot try one just to see. I think I will go with the OMD, it makes more sense for what I need.

Thanks for that great info, so OMD it is. That Fuji sensor looks pretty good, I'm interested in learning more about the X E-1 and how fast in can auto focus.

Looking for a new camera system

I'm in the US, I print canvas the most but I can crop a bit for 14*11 or 8*10, I think I should be able to find a bigger size. Anyone with a Fuji E-1 around here that could help out? The pictures from it look more than great and it seems like there is a 55-230 coming out at the end of the year...

Looking for a new camera system

Thanks! I'm not interested in the GH3, to bulky for me. The GX7 looks interesting but with the amount of money I have I won't be able to get the 12-50 from Olympus. Weather sealing is a great feature as well as the in body stabilization! Regarding the 4/3 ratio, my issue is if I compose my...

    Try to go mirror lens

Hello, I have been shooting for some time, first with Pentax then Nikon but I'm starting to feel the weight of my equipment and would like to go with something lighter. I shoot mainly landscape and nature with a few city and portrait shoot. Going mirror less makes sense to me even though I...
