    Sony Showcase RX1 Images

A shot I grabbed while shooting a concert with my D4. The RX1R is always along for wide stuff.

    Sony Motocross with the RX1R

Thanks Bill. For me, personally, the fact the RX1 worked this well is amazing.

    Sony Motocross with the RX1R

A few weeks ago I shot some motocross races and took the RX1R along for some wide angle shots of the starting line, individual bike shots off the track. . .. I use a D4 for everything else. I was taking a break while the little guys were on the track and on a whim panned with a rider as he went...

Sony Comparison of B&W Clear UV haze filter as a protector instead of lens cap.

I bought a 49mm Protection Filter by Heliopan, the slim mount one. I bought this one because I really liked the fact that even this slim version is threaded and will accept the lens cap, which I still use. It is brass and spins on and off with ease and I see zero difference with it on versus off.

Definitely on the right track. Keep shooting.

    Sony Focus Tracking...I'm impressed!

Thanks for the reminder about this feature. I have probably only turned it on once.

    Sony Landscapes, Not my Forte

Thanks for the suggestions. I will give them a try to see how they work.

    Sony Landscapes, Not my Forte

Similar comment to yours below and I gave the relevant settings. The second required more dynamic range adjustment to water and beach areas. Sky is ah-natural and what I exposed for.

    Sony Landscapes, Not my Forte

Clairty and saturation slider to 9 in LR5. Contrast-from memory was +17 if I remember correctly. I prefer drama but not over-cooked. Thanks for the comment and critique.

    Sony Landscapes, Not my Forte

Thought I would give landscapes a try with the RX1R. Not what I normally photograph. Any advice is welcome.

One from behind the scenes at a concert. RX1R If you look over the drummers shoulder and to the right side of the image you can see the guitar players through the smoke. Sorry, guess I had already posted this! Doh!

Sony Made a command decision today: I'm not going to try and turn the RX1 into something it's not.

I would submit that motor-sports and concerts can be quite difficult. Not sure if you have tried those or not. (At least they provide easy excuses for poor shots; but the guy was going past me at 180mph!) Seriously, I like the energy of both venues. As far as street photography goes I'm not...

    Sony Showcase RX1 Images

The first photo is very nice. I have noticed a seamless, creamy quality in RX1 photo's. your's takes advantage of the trait very well. I believe it was your first photo in this thread that had similar qualities and is also one of my favorites from this thread. I don't do a lot of landscapes but...

    Hello from London

Louis, I have absolutely no experience with Sigma DPM. I hear about resolution but that it is very limiting. I had an RX 1 and now a Rx1R and what these cameras can do amazes me. You have both. Anything else you can share to enlighten me? I love my RX1R and how versifier it is. Far more than I...

Sony Blacked out 'Sony' logo on my RX1 - what does this say about me...or Sony?

I do like the look of the RX 1. It's already so small compared to my other camera that I can't imagine most people giving it any more attention than most point and shoots. I may be wrong but don't most of the non-photographing public, or casual photographers, associate the Sony name with...

Sony RX 1R and the RX 1

If the D4 shot shows more resolution it would only be due to processing or conversion to jpeg. The raw files show a clear advantage for the RX1 and the RX1 R. The D4 is incredible though. It does trail quite a bit in the megapixel race to begin with. "Or. it's my incredible post processing...

Sony RX 1R and the RX 1

The last shot was the D4. I will now take "only" 75% of my concert shots with the D4 and the "terrioR" shots-those that offer a sense of place" with the RX1R.

Sony RX 1R and the RX 1

In response to a request from BBW in my new member post I thought I would give my initial assessment of the RX 1R re: the RX 1. I have only had my "R" since last Friday. I owned my RX 1 for about two months before acquiring the "R" version. As one would expect they handle identically. My...

    Sony RX1 - the camera I don't need.

It also has manual focusing and focus peaking with a zoom feature to help focus; oh, and it has the choice of three colors for peaking and three levels of outline intensity... Oh, and the IQ is soooo good you can easily crop to 50mm equivalent. IMHO

    New RX 1R

I did have a RX1 and loved it! I really can't say what prompted me to make the switch. Like I said I wanted a small camera to carry all of the time and the IQ of the RX 1 blew me away. To my eye it produced the highest quality, most pleasing images I have seen from any camera. Sharp, beautiful...

    New RX 1R

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, that second shot blew me away when I saw in on my computer. The RX1 and now the R continue to amaze. Concerts can be fun. Spot lights, low lights, color shifts and in this case smoke. I panned with a moto-cross bike this weekend and it's sharp! Crazy stuff.

    New RX 1R

Hi to all, New to the forum and the compact camera world. I mainly shot concerts and motor-sports using a D4. My search for a small camera to carry with me at all times escalated to the point where I purchased a RX1. I quickly realized that, although I wanted something smaller, IQ was a...
