News Olympus to exit, or at least scale back, from the digital camera market?

I'm still on the E-pl5. How many years will it take PDAF to migrate down to the smaller cameras? When that happens, Olympus or Panasonic can take my money. I don't need an evf. I even thought about jumping to Fuji but lack of IBIS on their lower end cameras is a deal breaker.

    Feedback Site changes, again

Digging the merge Amin. I just wish I had more time for photography. It's taken a back seat over the last year.

Has it really been five years?

Wow. It's been that long huh.

    Need some printing advice

Hrm. And here I was thinking about getting a pixma pro the next time they have it on sale plus rebate.

Also, looking at Sagittarius is looking at the galactic core. Looking at Orion is looking out toward the edge of the milky way. This shot is Sagittarius .

    Micro 4/3 Milky way attempt...

Micro four thirds lenses will focus beyond infinity in my experience. I had to manually focus on a bright star.

    Micro 4/3 Milky way attempt...

Lol. No, this was pointed at the dark side of the beach. Still tons of light pollution. I'd have to drive 50 miles to find a dark site.

I carve a fake pumpkin every year. Here's a few I've done. I haven't done many, but it is fun.

Nikon Nikon shuts down Nikon 1 System

I never owned the system, but played with it many times in the store. The noise and dynamic range wasn't up to the micro four thirds 16mp sensor and lens selection was lacking. The af was blazing though.

I know it's crazy, but I've changed us back to SC

I haven't visited in a few days and found my cached login didn't kick in and noticed the change. For me, the content is driven by users and what users allow, regardless of the name. I'm still sporting an ep5 and a Fuji compact.

    Hiking Tips for Photographers?

I generally use a sling strap with the camera on it ready to go.. Tripod in the backpack for the waterfalls etc. Camera swings a bit. If I have to ford a stream or do something a little more strenuous or climbing, I throw it in the back pack. I typically do 5 or 6 mile hikes, so only other thing...

Surprised while trying to check the difference between cameras

HDR works wonders on sunrise and sunsets assuming clouds aren't moving too fast or the wind is blowing leaves. The deer shot looks to be way underexposed

Cats The Requisite Cat (Kitty) Photo thread

When I was visiting my sister, I took a few photos of their cat named Buddy. He's a Russian blue mix. He's normally very skittish around me for some reason, but I was able to grab a few photos of him when he wasn't paying attention. This is with an E-PL5 and my newly acquired 45mm I've been...
