I was using an adapted lens before, so I tried a native lens. There was no difference when in manual mode. In an automated mode the exposure compensation dial does affect the display brightness and the histogram.

My shooting style doesn't tax my camera's write buffer, but I still use fast card for the read speed when I am downloading the files to my computer.

I was using manual focus, actually. Autofocus kept trying to focus on the high-contrast sun-lit fence on the other side of the track, so I had to pre-focus for the middle of the track.

My biggest wish is a proper minimum shutter speed when using auto-ISO. With my X-E1 and 35mm, it seems OK, using a sec shutter speed around 1/53 sec. With the 18-55, though, it seems to only use 1/30th no matter what focal length is used or whether OIS is on or off. Perhaps it's just an issue...
